Definition: Torque Limiter (Safety Couplings)

Torque Limiter used to protect machines (Safety Couplings) and equipments against damages. The drive is disconnected, when the torque is higher than the disengagement torque of the coupling.
All Torque Limiters works at the same princip by us.

Application of Torque Limiter
With increasing automation of production lines those components are gaining rising importance, which in case of overload protect machines from damages or iniate automatical shut off. The performance rates e.g. of servo drives especially in NC-machine tools are raised from year to year. Combined with it the rapid traverse rates increase. At these high-speed movements in the machine, a collision results in severe machine damage and expensive outage time. Safety Couplings are used to protect against these damages or at least to reduce them. Torque  Limiter can be used everywhere in such equipment where torque limitation is necessary in order to protect machinery or products against overloading.

 • low-play torque transmission, robust, compact, small installation space requirements
 • unaffected by oil and grease, automatic reengagement
 • machine reference is retained (one reference per 360°)
 • continously adjustable disengegement torque
 • low mass, very low moment of inertia
